Ethos
Every parent wants the best for their child. Your child's pre-school years are important for later growth and development of your child's potential. We at Montessori North Oxford aim to provide your child with the "right" conditions to encourage their individual talents to blossom to the full. Our desire is that the experience gained in the colourful environments of Field House and Summertown give a firm foundation for further education.

Our Approach
In accordance with the Montessori approach, the teacher directs the child towards activities that will fulfil his/her needs. The children are free to choose their own activities and each experience is presented individually to each child. Within small groups, each child is individually helped to fully use and understand specifically designed equipment which develops the senses, aids the teaching of reading, writing and mathematics and introduces art, geography, nature studies and the concept of time. The curriculum also includes music and movement, French, cooking, local nature and interest visits, and familiarization with computers.
