Free Childcare Entitlement
A UK government grant pays for 15 hours/ week of early years education for 3-4 year olds for 38 weeks of the academic year.
Please refer to www.direct.gov.uk for more information. This core entitlement is provided in a flexible manner to maximise its impact. The 15 hours per week may be spread over 3 mornings or, alternatively, over 5 afternoons.
Other options are possible and should be discussed with the manger to try to find an accommodation.
The nursery academic year stretches over 48 weeks, while the childcare grant pays for 38 weeks. As such, the grant is used to pay at source for 3 of the 4 academic terms, the exception being the winter term*.
